If you haven’t had the chance as of yet to check out the Niagara-based band “CRUTCH” – you must do so!  They have a strong industry sound, with a beautiful blend of original feel to their music – even when playing covers, many feel compelled to still watch and listen to these guys – they are absolutely fantastic!

And not to mention, they also won the 2011 Niagara Music & Arts Expo Battle of the Bands, and were nominated for Best Rock Group of the Year at the Niagara Music Awards!!

I’ve had the opportunity to work with and get to know the guys from the band – and they are awesome to chat with, as well and equally awesome to hear. The guys put on a CD Release Part at Rockford’s House of Rock in St. Catharines on June 18, 2011 – and also invited along NMA Female Vocalist of the Year Nominee Danica Bucci, The Roper Show, and Citizen – who all put on amazing performances throughout the evening! (unfortunately we could not attend the Citizen show – will catch you next time guys!)

I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with my friend and Giant FM radio co-host Rita Carrey, who happens to also be the sister of Actor & Comedian Jim Carrey!

Rita has “Popper the Penguin” – a stuffed Penguin Prop, sent to her by her brother from the set of his new movie “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”, and is taking the Penguin to various spots throughout Ontario – people who see her with the penguin can have their photo taken with the penguin, and the photos will be posted on the Giant FM website at: http://www.giantfm.com/pop_ups/penguin_popper.htm

At the end of summer 2011, Rita will be auctioning off the Penguin, which has also been signed by Jim – with proceeds from the auction going towards Light of Day Niagara/Parkison’s & ALS Research.

Last week, I was invited by Rita to join her and Popper for a walk around Marineland,  to meet some of the playful animals – including a Sea Lion named Coral and a Killer Whale named Ike!

Rita also invited us out this month to the first showing premiere of her brother’s new movie “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”. We were to also take photos of Popper as he hung out with invited guests to the movie!  We were also treated to popcorn and refreshments for the movie – which was an absolutely amazing movie at that! Our good friends Rachel & Aaron visited from Hamilton this past week for a fun-filled engagement photo shoot that took us to a few different picturesque settings around Niagara Falls.  This fantastic couple are to be married this August 2011.

Here are the highlights from their engagement shoot, and thanks to Rachel & Aaron for a wonderful time as always.

 

I met with the Cunliffe Family at the end of May 2011 for a fun family portrait/photo session at Queenston Heights.

The family had wanted some relaxed outdoor photos of themselves, and we all had a grand & fun time during our walk around the grounds of the park.

Thanks to the Cunliffes being such a  fantastic family and great sports in front of the camera – and here are the highlights:

I met with a very fun and down-to-earth couple – Becky & Brian – at the end of May for an engagement photo shoot at the very scenic Balls Falls Conservation Area

We took a walk around the park, taking in some fantastic views of both the Upper & Lower Falls, as well as taking in some picturesque stops at a few of the historical landmarks.

The Happy Couple are set to be married this July of 2011 – and we’re really looking forward to seeing them on their special day! Thanks and Congratulations to Becky and Brian!
