by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.29, 2011, under Couples & Weddings
Our good friends and clients Tashia & James Crawford were married on September 9, 2011. We began our day with the Bride and Groom, respectively visiting both separately as they began to get ready to head to the ceremony and reception, which took place at the very lovely Queenston Heights.
We wish to thank the happy couple for having us as their wedding photographers – we had so much fun capturing their wedding memories and staying to party with them at the end of the night was a perfect way to end a perfect day!
Congratulations to Tashia and James! Here are the highlights from their Special Day:

Diana & Joseph Giordano were married on September 4th 2011 at the very scenic Decew Falls-Morningstar Mill. The happy couple, and their family & friends gathered at the Mill for a small ceremony, and then we had a lot of laughs and fun for the formals & couples portraits on the historical Decew grounds.
Many thanks and Congratulations again to Diana & Joseph – we look forward to seeing you again soon!

The Jake Maiuri Band – “Love Struck Photoshoot”!
by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.23, 2011, under Music & Entertainment
Our friend and client Jake Maiuri has formed a band – and hired us at the end of August to do up a fun promotional photo shoot of him and his band (along with their lovely groupies)! The shoot was to be called “Love Struck Photo Shoot” – based around young love and the love of music.
We met with everyone at the scenic Oakes Gardens in Niagara Falls – where we all had a blast through the afternoon.
Jake needed to put together some promotional material for some upcoming releases – and is now very excited about the photos from our shoot! We look forward to seeing more of & from Jake Maiuri & his Band in the near-future!

(Wedding Photos will added to the blog soon)

Tanya & Steve – Just Married!
by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.17, 2011, under Couples & Weddings
On August 27th, we photographed the really awesome and very lovely wedding of Tanya Pavelko & Steve Goode. We’ve been friends with Steve for quite some time, and were very happy when he had first asked us to photograph his wedding. We had previously worked with Steve as the photographer of his two bands “Groovy Food” & “The Permtones” – which made it a fantastic honour to be a big part in his and Tanya’s very special day.
The wedding took place entirely at a private location in Stevensville, Ontario. The ceremony took place outdoors, with a wonderful family & couples formal photo shoot followed. The entire property was very scenic & beautiful – and provided many wonderful backdrop scenes for all of the photos – complete with the reception dinner & party which was held inside the big barn on the property. Great food, great music, great people, and great times, and ending off with one very awesome sunset – we wish to thank Tanya & Steve for having us as their wedding photographers!

The Property Owner’s cat came by to visit us during our shoot!

HELLO HALIFAX!
by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.13, 2011, under Special Request Shoots
In early August, I was flown out to Halifax Nova Scotia to work on a very important and confidential project. I was to be a personal photographer for someone I had met while on a job in Calgary Alberta the week before, as well as work on another project of which I am under contract not to speak or write about, so with all of that said - August 2011 was a really busy and totally incredible month of new experiences and opportunities!  Along with my flight to Calgary, this was my first time in the last 18 years that I had been on a plane!
I was extremely excited to be flying to Halifax as I had never been to the East Coast before, and I have always been fascinated with boats and ships – which stems to my childhood memories of my grandfather’s stories and photographs of historic water vessels.
..and so I flew from Toronto to Halifax in just about two hours time via WestJet — fast and high!

I was picked up at Halifax Stanfield Airport and was driven to meet one of my contacts in Dartmouth. After meeting with them, I was shown to my comped hotel room in Dartmouth and overlooking Halifax Harbour.  My itinerary for the next morning included a short stroll through Dartmouth and to Alderney Landing where I would catch the Metro Ferry to cross Halifax Harbour over to the City of Halifax. The ferry ride was pretty neat, as it gave the option to stand up top and outside to get some great views of the fine East Coast Panorama.
Once in Halifax, I met with another contact “The Skipper” who was to be my guide and work buddy during my stay. We immediately went to the job site and began our work for the day. The weather wasn’t co-operating a little later on that day, so I was permitted some time to “play tourist”. The Skipper and I took off back down to the harbourfront – and then we simply walked and explored.
I was very excited to know that my Halifax accommodations were practically attached to the Alexander Keith’s Brewery, and overlooking the harbour! Life couldn’t get any better on this trip!
Here are all of the rest of the exciting highlights from my work trip to Halifax. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough time to see and do everything that I had wanted – but that will just make Halifax that much better the next time I go!  I got to meet a lot of fantastic people, and contribute greatly to a fantastic project in the making. The fresh smell of the sea air was refreshing to the senses each day, and The East Coast food is still something I miss every single day now that I am back home. The lobster, the fish, the everything food – what an awesome place Halifax was!
I would like to thank everyone involved with making this incredible trip happen! Your hospitality was out of this world amazing – and I am very proud to have been a part of it all.
Enjoy the pics!

Farewell Dartmouth!
Hello Halifax!

On the first morning in Halifax, My friend “The Skipper” (who was also my NS work peer & City Guide) took me down along the harbourfront, and showed me how to reach into the harbour and pick out a Live Starfish! No I didn’t eat it…

The Skipper told me to dip my bare feet in the Ocean – sure why not?!
…and then I was attacked by a Great White Shark!

But we did see many of these jelly fish floating and roaming along the edges of Halifax Harbour

The last evening in Halifax – all of us got together for a Lobster Feast – and many of us including myself had three extra large lobsters to ourselves. Incredible.

Thanks again to everyone for making Halifax happen – and for making it incredible all around. I look forward to seeing all of you again in the near-future.

by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.13, 2011, under Music & Entertainment
We met with our musician client and good friend Paul Federici in August for a promotional photo shoot. Paul had requested the shoot for press release photos as well as photos for the promotion of his music.
The shoot took place at the truly awesome Catherine North Studios, which is a beautiful and unique recording studio in an old church space, tucked away in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. We wish to thank Michel Chambers for providing us with a fantastic experience at Catherine North!
Huge thanks and Special Shout Out goes out to Paul, who has created his website using many of the awesome photos from our shoot… Such a fun shoot it was! We look forward to working with Paul again in the near-future.

Amy & Michael – Just Married!
by thomaswellerphoto on Sep.06, 2011, under Couples & Weddings
Amy and Michael were married on August 20, 2011 – and what a fantastic & amazing special day it was! We began with visiting both the bride and groom, as well as their wedding party and families at their homes to capture some pre-ceremony candids. We then headed to the ceremony, which took place at the picturesque Jaycee Gardens in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Following the lovely outdoor ceremony under the willows, we had a fantastic fun time with the family and wedding party formals, and continued our fun at the memorable and fun-filled reception and party at the Black Sea Hall.
We wish to thank Amy and Michael Fox for having us as their wedding photographers, it was a real pleasure and we had a blast! That Candy Table was pretty incredible too!!
