We were visited this past week by our wonderful friends Shannon & Scott from Kitchener. The wonderful couple are set to be married this August 2012, and had chosen to come to Niagara Falls for their engagement photo shoot!

We began the photo shoot with a lovely walk around the always dynamic grounds of Queenston Heights, which was followed by a quick stop at Kurtz Orchards, and then ended the fantastic shoot along the beautiful Niagara Parkway, adjacent to the Historic McFarland House. We were also joined by the couple’s wedding DJ and my great friend Blake Belcher, who did a fabulous job being my assistant with the photo-lighting!

I met with my wonderful friends Lisa & Brad last week at Queenston Heights for a fun & memorable Engagement Photo Shoot!

The spring colours were absolutely fabulous and we all had a great time capturing some truly timeless moments of the soon-to-be married couple’s love – Lisa and Brad are to be married this October, and we’re really looking forward to being there to photograph their very Special Day!

Big thanks go out to Lisa and Brad for an awesome shoot – thank you as well to Queenston Heights for always making any of our shoots wonderful, and a big thank you to the Chestnut Inn Bed & Breakfast in Niagara Falls for letting us use their very lovely grounds and gazebo.

On April 21st, we photographed and assisted in the production of BY REQUEST’s FREESTYLE ENTERTAINMENT DANCE PARTY!

The event took place at the Royal Canadian Legion in Hamilton – and did we ever party it up!

The show featured Canada’s Entertainment Specialist: Blake Belcher – who put on a DJ-Freestyle Entertainment Party unlike any other…and everyone that attended had a fun evening of Inspiration, Innovation, Imagination, and Impersonation!

We had an absolute blast, and we look forward to doing more great work with BY REQUEST soon – be sure to watch for DJ Blake with By Request Entertainment!! Throughout our  years of working with many DJs in the industry – none have ever been as dynamic, as professional, and as down-to-earth & friendly, as Blake Belcher. We would recommend Blake for anyone requiring DJ/Entertainment services for their wedding or event. We are  proud to call him a close colleague,  a wonderful friend, and a true strong alliance in business.

We visited our very wonderful friends Tanya & Steve in March, as they had requested a newborn photo shoot with their beautiful newborn baby girl Ewalina – who was born on Leap Day this Year!

It was fantastic to have met Ewalina within the first week of her being born, and the photo shoot was great fun!  We had previously photographed the Wedding of our friends Tanya and Steve, as well as their Maternity Photo Shoot – so it was extra-special to be there to capture the magic of Ewalina’s “First Photo Shoot”!

In the true spirit of Family Day – we welcome our very wonderful friends and clients – Tanya & Steve who we have recently visited for a pregnancy/maternity photo shoot!  The happy couple were just married this past August 27th, 2011 – and we had previously done quite a bit of work with Steve, as he is a musician for the bands “Groovy Food” and “The Permtones“.  We’ve become quite good friends with Steve and Tanya, and we were very happy to have returned to photograph more moments of their magically fun lives!

The couple had invited us to their lovely home, and we found it to be a really fun setting for their maternity photo shoot.  The shoot wouldn’t have been complete without the collection of wide-eyed owls, the fresh sour dough bread from the market, the incredible homemade guacamole dip,  and of course the ultra-memorable fun love between Tanya & Steve as they prepare for the soon-arrival of their baby….and the shoot became that much more amazing when Steve brought out the Banjo and the Mandolin for a little duet!

A big congratulations to our fantastic friends, and a big thank you for having us capture the beginnings to their beautiful new family.

Larissa & Peter visited us last week for a fun-filled maternity photo shoot!  Larissa was due within just a few days of the shoot, but the happy couple really wanted to have some pre-birth memories!

We met at our home-studio location – where we worked with a few different backgrounds and settings for some really amazing maternity moments.

As an update – Congratulations to our friends Larissa & Peter as they welcomed their newborn son Eli on January 31, 2012!!

We met with our good friends The Brown Family at their brand new home right at Christmas for some relaxed “in-the-home” family portraits!

We gathered all of the family members around the Christmas Tree for some holiday joy, and then we captured the family at various spots in and around their new home!  We all had a fantastic time, and we wish to thank the Browns for a very wonderful afternoon!

We had a wonderful pleasure and opportunity to meet four-month old Mateo Owen and his mom at their home on Boxing Day – December 26, 2011.  It was fantastic to have shared so many wonderful moments with the young family, and especially right at Christmas!

Mateo Owen’s mom, as well as Kat & myself, came up with some really fun sets & backgrounds that Mateo Owen enjoyed so very much throughout the entire photo shoot – we all had such a fantastic time capturing some magical & fun moments of family, life & love.

In all of our time of being community/lifestyle photographers in the Niagara area, and out of all of the special events and weddings that we have completed over the last few years, we had yet to find an alignment as solid as we have found with BY REQUEST.

Over the last few months, we have been working very closely with our good friend Blake Belcher at BY REQUEST: Entertainment Specialists.  Blake is one awesome dude, with an extremely awesome concept. He is taking his DJ services to a whole new level, which sets him apart from the rest of the pack.  We at Weller Photography have met many many DJs at the countless weddings and events we have photographed – but none of them could ever match up to what BY REQUEST brings to the table!

We are quite honoured to be the Official Photographers for BY REQUEST - and we are very much looking forward to all of the really fun things that we have planned in the very near-future!!

Here’s a little bit about the buzz!:

BY REQUEST offers “Freestyle Entertainment” to shows and events.  It is an Entertainment & DJ show with various possibilities based on music requests that the audience asks for. Blake will feel the music and the energy from the room, and keep pushing its limits with sight and sound!  He will create appearances from music icons and fashion styles of what genre of music is airing.

Those that request for or come out to a BY REQUEST show, will have a night to remember. You never know what Blake will do or who he will be next!

Our good friends, the McLaughlin Family wanted some fun family Christmas portraits of both of their daughters – and so we met at the Stevensville Garden Gallery Christmas Store - and what a fantastic time we had!

We met with our wonderful friend Denise Dorricott, who had requested for a family photo shoot along with her grandchildren at Queenston Heights.  Denise was very specific with wanting relaxed “hip & cool” shots of her hanging out for a walk through the park with her grand kids – and that is exactly what we photographed!  What a fantastic shoot we had, and thanks to Denise & Family for a really awesome time!

Our friends & clients Jennifer & Bill are engaged, and are planning to be married in July 2012.  They had requested for an outdoor fall-themed engagement photo shoot – and so we met the couple at the always lovely St. John’s Conservation Area.

Our clients and friends Marcy & Richard Cane were married on October 21, 2011.  The couple had chosen to have a very small ceremony that included only their closest family. The lovely little ceremony took place in their home in St. Catharines – and then we decided to spice up their photos and take a quick drive up to Queenston Heights for a walk in the park!

Our very wonderful friends & clients Tashia & James Crawford, who were just married on September 9, 2011 -  had chosen to have their engagement photo shoot to be after their wedding, and with a fall colour feel to the shoot was our goal!

We began our ultra-fun afternoon shoot along Twenty Mile Creek in Jordan, Ontario and then along the picturesque back roads to Balls Falls – to capture the essence of the happy couple’s newly married love.  Again, to our fabulous friends & clients – Congratulations and all the very best to both of you in the future. Our good friends Amanda and Nick from Bruce County, traveled to see us in October, for a fun-filled engagement shoot!  We all had a fantastic time at the shoot, which started out with some lovely fall colour backgrounds at Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls, and then we ventured over to the always majestic Niagara Botanical Gardens!

Our wonderful friends and clients Nathalie & Matt were married on October 15, 2011. We had a really wonderful full day with the happy couple, capturing their wedding memories, practically from the start of the day to the end of their magical night.

It was an unforgettable day with fun & intimate portraits of the bride getting ready at her home, to the really lovely ceremony at St. Kevins in Welland, to timeless romantic poses at Morningstar Mill, and then with a wedding party “first dance” in the ruins of the historic Decew House, and then some great times of celebration over at “The Cay” Tiki Hut at the bride & groom’s home.  The perfect day continued with more amazing memories at the reception held at Club Roma!

We had a truly incredible time with Nathalie & Matt as well as their friends & family. We wish to thank everyone for all of your hospitality and for helping to make these wonderful photo memories happen!  Here are the highlights:

In October, we had met with an old co-worker and friend of mine George Prowten, who along with his family, had wished for a relaxed fall-related family photo shoot at Merritt Island in Welland.
